New TorqSense SGR521 torque transducer

Sensor Technology Ltd. has further developed the TorqSense SGR521 torque sensor and released an update. This new torque transducer now offers an optional Ethernet output in addition to the proven digital outputs such as RS232 and USB. This significantly expands the connection options and makes it easier to monitor and analyse torque measurements in real time.

The SGR series relies on non-contact technologies that avoid the typical disadvantages of slip rings and utilises advanced strain gauge signal processing. This makes it a high-precision solution for torque measurement:

  • Measuring ranges: from 175 mNm to 13,000 Nm
  • High accuracy: ±0.1% for reliable results
  • Overload capacity: up to 400
  • Overrange: up to 250%
  • Fast sampling rate: 4000 samples per second

Ethernet output

The Ethernet output enables fast data transfer and seamless integration into networked systems. This makes torque measurement even more efficient, as remote monitoring and control is possible from anywhere - whether in the local area network (LAN) or via internet connections using gateways and VPNs.

A key advantage of the TorqSense SGR521 torque sensor is its support for multiple access. Multiple devices can access the sensor simultaneously via standard internet protocols, whether via PC, laptop, smartphone or IoT devices such as Raspberry Pi. The use of UDP packet transmission ensures fast and efficient data exchange. An integrated web server also enables simple configuration and data visualisation.

The updated TorqView Advanced Torque Monitoring software complements the sensor's functions by optimising the visualisation and analysis of measurement data. This enables users to utilise the full potential of torque transducer technology and make their processes more efficient. 

With these innovations, Sensor Technology Ltd. sets new standards in torque measurement and offers solutions that combine precision, flexibility and user-friendliness.
