High-Temperature Probes

For extremely high-temperature environments

About the High-Temperature Probes

These high-temperature probes operate exactly like the standard probes, with the same accuracy, range of incidence angles, and frequency response, but are made to operate in extremely high-temperature environments.

To suit the needs and budgets of different customers, three different types of these probes are offered. The most cost-effective model offered is a steel probe which can withstand up to 600°C. A probe constructed of a nickel-based
superalloy is also available, which is capable of sustaining up to 900°C.
None of these probes requires cooling of any sort. These high-temperature probes can be manufactured in the same geometries and sizes as the standard probes.

Key features High-Temperature Probes

  • 3 or 5 hole
  • Standard tip diameter 1.6, 2.4, 3.2, and 6.35 mm
  • Accepts flow angles up to ±30° for 3-hole probe and ±50° for 5-hole probe
  • Temperature ratings up to 900° C
  • High accuracy NIST traceable aerodynamic calibrations
  • Up to 3000 discrete aerodynamic calibration points per speed
  • Nickel based super alloy
  • Optional embedded thermocouple
  • Custom engineering solutions available
  • Standard media: non-reactive gases, air, water, and other fluids
  • Angle error less than ±1°
  • Velocity error less than ±1% or ±1 m/s

Applications High-Temperature Probes

  • Gas turbines
  • Afterburners,
  • Gas and steam turbines
  • Exhaust testing
