Model AGS4000 wins
The specific contribution from Althen: various pressure sensors, model AGS4000. The sensors were used at KA-RaceIng to record the brake pressures (for both the petrol engine and the battery-powered racing car).
Julius Vomhof from Team Michigan of KA-RaceIng e.V. - the association is based at KIT, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology - expressed his sincere thanks for the support. The sponsors have “made a unique 2013 season possible” and “played a major role in the success of KA-RaceIng”, said Vomhof.
Althen and motorsport
Cooperation with motorsport teams and technicians has a certain tradition at Althen. Joachim Ditthardt, Area Sales Manager South-West and Switzerland, used to love riding motorcycles himself - preferably through the desert. The die-hard salesman has toured across the African continent almost a dozen times, sometimes for weeks at a time.
In his interview, Thomas Richter, Sales Area Manager South East, also reports on a motorsport series for which Althen developed a pressure transducer years ago. The team in question - as a trusted first-time user - went “straight to the start without testing” and “won every race hands down”, according to Thomas Richter. They still remember it fondly today!
In addition to project partnerships of this kind, the measurement technology professionals at Althen also repeatedly supervise dissertations and support universities with sensor technology in the so-called Formula Student races: for example Wolfsburg (WOB Racing Team) and Darmstadt (D.A.R.T. Racing Team).
