What accuracies do precision pressure transducers provide?

Precision pressure transducers from Althen are designed for applications requiring high measurement accuracy, good long-term stability and temperature compensation. Depending on the model and measuring range, very different accuracy classes are available. This product category includes sensors for demanding measurement tasks in test benches, laboratories, process control and aerospace applications.

High-accuracy versions such as the Super TJE ultra precision pressure transducer achieve an accuracy of ±0.05% FS. In addition, this sensor offers a very low temperature deviation of 0.0015% FS/°F and is designed for precise gauge or absolute pressure measurements.

For applications with even higher requirements, ultra-high precision pressure transducers from the 3000 / 4000 series are also available. These use Digiquartz® technology and achieve a typical accuracy of 0.01% as well as a very high resolution of < 0.0001%. They are particularly suitable for measurement tasks requiring maximum resolution, long-term stability and reliable absolute pressure measurement, even under demanding environmental conditions.

The accuracy achieved in the application depends on the sensor model, measuring range, pressure type, output signal, temperature range and calibration. Althen supports you in selecting a precision pressure transducer that matches the required measurement accuracy and installation situation.

What connections are available for precision pressure transducers?

Precision pressure transducers from Althen are available with different process connections, electrical connections and output signals depending on the model. Typical process connections include G1/4", 1/4" NPT, G1/2" or 1/2" NPT. For high-pressure or special versions, additional connection variants may be required.

Depending on the sensor, electrical options include cable output, M12 connector or DIN connector. Output signals range from mV/V to 4–20 mA, 0–5 V or 0–10 V. The APR3100, for example, is available with cable output, M12 connector or DIN connector, as well as process connections such as G1/4", 1/4" NPT, G1/2" and 1/2" NPT.

For high-precision models such as the Super TJE or TJE, various electrical versions and amplified output signals are available, including mV/V, 4–20 mA, 0–5 V and 0–10 V.

For Digiquartz® ultra-high precision pressure transducers, special tube fittings and protective tubes are used depending on the series. The Series 2000 uses 1/8" Parker A-LOK or equivalent compression fittings for installation, while the Series 3000 / 4000 use 1/16" connections. Digiquartz® transducers also typically include a nylon or stainless-steel buffer tube as part of the mechanical shock protection.

The suitable connection variant depends on the pressure range, medium, installation space, output signal and existing measuring system. Althen supports you in selecting a precision pressure transducer with the right process and electrical connection.

What connections are available for precision pressure transducers?

Precision pressure transducers from Althen are available with analogue, digital or frequency-based output signals depending on the model. Typical analogue signals are mV/V, 4–20 mA, 0–5 V and 0–10 V. They are suitable for measuring amplifiers, data loggers, test benches, controllers and industrial data acquisition systems.

For Digiquartz® ultra-high precision pressure transducers, additional special output variants are available. The 2000 series offers a frequency output. The 1000 / 6000 / 9000 series are intelligent pressure transmitters with RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces for direct digital measured value output.

The most suitable output signal depends on the application, cable length, supply voltage, signal processing and connected measuring system. In industrial environments, 4–20 mA is often used, while mV/V or voltage outputs are frequently used in test and laboratory applications. Frequency outputs and RS-232/RS-485 are particularly relevant when maximum resolution, long-term stability and digital further processing are required.
