About the SGR Torque Sensor
The transducers utilise non-contact technology that eliminates the need for noisy slip rings. The SGR510/520 series torque sensors are suitable for torque measurement, testing, feedback control of drive mechanisms and process control applications.
The SGR series transducers utilise advanced strain gauge signal conditioning techniques to provide a cost-effective torque measurement solution with high bandwidth and overload capability as well as a wide range of digital outputs.
Advantages
- Contactless signal transmission, no slip rings to wear out
- High digital sampling rate of 4000 samples per second
- Adjustable smoothing of the torque data, low-pass filter (SGR520)
- Speed measurement / power calculation
- Wide power supply range 12-32 VDC
- Compatible with Ethernet gateway module
- Lifetime warranty
The TorqSense SGR510 series transducers offer:
- Fixed analogue voltage or current outputs (one for torque and the other for speed or power) for connection to analogue measuring devices
- BIT self-diagnostics to inform the manufacturer that the torque, speed and calibration time of the transducer have not been exceeded
- Simple ‘sensor status’ output pin
- Shaft temperature monitoring sensors for better compensation and accuracy
The TorqSense SGR520 offer:
- Digital outputs such as RS232, CANbus and USB for connection to modern measuring devices and laptops
- Digital input for configuring the transducer via a PC
- 2 x user-selectable analogue voltage or current outputs (one for torque and the other for speed, power or peak torque) for connection to analogue measuring devices
- Transducer configuration software that allows the user to change the variables of the transducer
- BIT self-diagnostics to tell the user that the data is trustworthy, that the torque and speed values of the transducer and the calibration date have not been exceeded
- Simple ‘sensor status’ output pin
- Shaft temperature monitoring sensors for better compensation and accuracy
- Ability to connect up to 10 transducers via USB
- Optional external Ethernet gateway module
The TorqSense SGR521 series transducers offer:
- Torque, speed and power measurement (transducer with 60 pulses per revolution)
- BIT self-diagnostics - The diagnostic system checks internal systems and operating conditions for faults and monitors torque, speed and temperature for overloads.
- An LED for the transducer status and a simple output pin for the ‘sensor status’ provide feedback on the condition of the transducer.
- Shaft temperature monitoring sensors for better compensation and accuracy.
- Transducer Control software is supplied to set up and configure the transducer.
- 3 analogue channels are individually configurable and allow changes to scaling and data assignment.
- Up to 10 transducers can be connected via USB.
- Minimal side and end load errors
- Low linearity deviation of ± 0.05 % FSD
- Low hysteresis deviation of ± 0.05 % FSD
- No change in the torque signal during rotation (cyclical change)
- Wide power supply range 12-32 VDC
